The Home Acoustics Alliance (HAA), a professional training and certification organisation for high-performance home theatre acoustic design and calibration, has announced HAA Link, a new calibration software platform designed to streamline the way home theatre systems are tuned and create new acoustic calibration services for integrators.

HAA Link is designed to dramatically simplify home theatre system audio calibration while still meeting the Home Acoustics Alliance’s rigorous standards, including CEDIA RP22 and RP32 requirements.

“Until now, calibration via a component’s onscreen display has been a nightmare for integrators,” says Gerry Lemay, Founder of the Home Acoustics Alliance. “HAA Link makes it simple and furthers the Home Acoustics Alliance’s goal to formalise calibration as a repeatable, standards-based discipline.”

By combining measurement and control in a single environment, HAA Link reduces steps and eliminates the tedious workflow of switching between measurement tools and the processor’s onscreen menu.

Integrators can now evaluate and adjust system performance simultaneously using the free companion HAA CinemaTools with HAA Link app, available for iPad on the Apple App Store.

HAA Link allows integrators to make real-time adjustments to key calibration settings without needing to rely on onscreen displays. The software also provides real-time sound analysis alongside calibration controls within a single environment. By reducing the need for repeated measurement cycles, HAA Link helps save integrators valuable time throughout the calibration process.

Calibrating audio system components to suit their environment is essential for achieving optimal performance in any home cinema. Building on the Home Acoustics Alliance’s established reputation for acoustics education and system optimisation, HAA Link enables integrators to deliver standards-based acoustic calibration for high-performance systems.

The software includes professional calibration techniques for precision speaker levelling and phase alignment, alongside 14 precision parametric equalisation filters per channel. It also features an onboard suite of state-of-the-art test tones for every channel, as well as global EQ controls designed to optimise and speed up speaker alignment.

Multiple HAA Mode presets allow end users to experiment with different settings while still being able to quickly return to professionally calibrated modes. Integrators can also create customised presets for different listening scenarios, including Movie Mode, Music Mode and Night Mode.

HAA Link supports both experienced calibrators and beginners looking to standardise their calibration processes. By making complex standards-based calibration faster and more accessible, the platform is designed to create new opportunities for integrators.

Those who may previously have missed out on the acoustic and audio calibration business can now add this service with minimal complexity while still delivering high-performance results for customers.

AudioControl’s Hyperion Series AV processor — available now — is the first component certified by the Home Acoustics Alliance through integration with HAA Link software.

Available as a professional feature upgrade, HAA Link unlocks advanced calibration tools and capabilities typically reserved for the most expensive components.

“We’re excited to partner with Gerry Lemay and the Home Acoustics Alliance to bring HAA Link to the Hyperion Series,” says Tom Devine, Vice President of Marketing at AudioControl. “Introducing new calibration technologies is always a win — for our partners and for the end users who get to enjoy the results.”

HAA Link can be licensed by qualifying receiver and preamp/processor manufacturers, enabling professional audio calibration services that create new revenue opportunities for integrators while delivering more professionally installed systems and improved customer satisfaction.
