Hisense has become the first TV manufacturer to announce the launch of Dolby Vision 2 for its 2026 RGB MiniLED range along with the Hisense U7S PRO running VIDAA OS.
Representing the first major Dolby Vision upgrade in over a decade, Dolby Vision 2 technology surpasses traditional HDR formats with a range of features that make existing Dolby Vision content visibly better.
New and improved features include Content Intelligence, which provides an optimised viewing experience by analysing both onscreen content and the viewing environment in real time. This means improved motion clarity when gaming or watching sports and deeper blacks when enjoying the latest blockbuster at home.
Precision Black is another feature designed to enhance contrast and clarity, improving visibility in darker scenes, while Light Sense automatically adjusts brightness and colour to suit fluctuating room conditions, whether watching in direct sunlight or darkened spaces.
Powered by Dolby’s new Image Engine, Dolby Vision 2 delivers enhanced brightness and contrast frame-by-frame to maximise the performance of Hisense’s RGB MiniLED technology. What’s more, an intensity slider allows enthusiasts to adjust picture depth and richness to compensate for any loss of contrast caused by irregular viewing angles or reflections, while offering a tailored experience that caters to different viewing environments.
Consumers using Dolby Vision 2 on Hisense Models will benefit from Dolby Vision 2 ‘Max’ which builds on these benefits further, giving users access to Authentic Motion and Pro settings, which offer users greater control over their Dolby Vision 2 experience.
Authentic Motion delivers the first creative-driven motion blur tool, minimising risks of judder and blur to ensure action sequences look and feel authentically cinematic, while the pro settings allow for greater control over display performance. Further still, ‘Max’ users will also enjoy Light Sense 2 which continuously optimises the image in line with ambient lighting conditions.
Combined with Hisense’s RGB MiniLED technology, Dolby Vision 2 further unlocks vibrant colours, lifelike picture quality and greater image control.
Robert Andrews, Head of Strategy & GTM, TV at Hisense UK comments, “Innovation is a core pillar of our work at Hisense and we continue to set high standards to elevate the customer’s home entertainment experience. The introduction of RGB MiniLED technology was a revolutionary step forward for the TV industry and as pioneers of this technology, we’re pleased to be the first manufacturer to unveil Dolby Vision 2 to homes across the UK. It’s another step closer to making cinema-quality entertainment accessible in every home and we’re excited to see this technology in action in living rooms across the UK.”
