GIK Acoustics has released the Q11D Diffuser, a one-dimensional quadratic diffuser developed as part of its expanding diffuser product line. Based on the established Q7D design, the Q11D incorporates an 11-root well sequence that shifts voicing higher in the midrange.
The new diffuser is slightly wider than the Q7D and features narrower wells, allowing the two models to be used together in modular arrays for broader coverage. Manufactured from CNC-cut wood laminates, the Q11D is available in multiple finishes and comes in both standard and Demi sizes.

“Quadratic diffusers are the gold standard when it comes to predictable, consistent 1D diffusion. These are the right device when you need to maintain as much mid and high frequency decay in a space, while still providing control over reflections and flutter,” says Mike Major, Acoustic Designer at GIK Acoustics.
“The Q11D is a higher frequency diffuser than a Q7D, with more complexity due to the higher number of wells. It has scattering effects down to 570Hz, with even diffusion up to 3900Hz. This type of quadratic diffusion excels in large spaces, live rooms and auditoria where a smooth, even midrange decay time is desired.”
Recommended placement options include rear wall diffusion in mix, mastering or listening rooms, behind dipole or open-baffle speakers, across the front wall or rear side walls of two-channel or surround systems and in live rooms for percussion and acoustic instrument tracking.

A Demi version of the Q11D – a half-height model – is also available, designed for installations with lower ceilings or for use in interleaved two-dimensional scattering designs.
Available in Beech, Walnut, Black and White, the Q11D Diffuser is priced at £239 / 449 / €279 /499 / $399 /449.
GIK Acoustics also offers free acoustic consultation to support tailored planning of each space, helping customers determine appropriate treatment strategies and product layouts.
