Bentley has announced a new collaboration with British audio specialist Naim, introducing the ‘Naim for Mulliner’ system as part of its Virtuoso Collection. The high-end in-car audio system is now available across the Continental GT, GTC and Bentayga models, with the Flying Spur set to follow.
Originally developed for the limited-production Bentley Batur, the system brings Dolby Atmos capability into the cabin, aiming to deliver an immersive listening experience inspired by professional studios and concert halls. The system has been engineered to ensure consistent sound quality throughout the vehicle, regardless of seating position.
The ‘Naim for Mulliner’ system features 18 speaker drivers supported by advanced spatialisation technology and high-performance amplification. This includes four TAM tweeters and nine Utopia M series 3WM drivers from Focal, alongside four woofers, a subwoofer and two active bass enhancement seats designed to further enhance low-frequency response.
The system draws on the combined expertise of Naim and its sister brand Focal, incorporating technologies such as the W cone for improved linearity, the M profile for precise sound dispersion and TMD suspension to reduce distortion. Particular emphasis has been placed on midrange performance, described as the core of musical detail and clarity.
Dolby Atmos compatibility enables a three-dimensional soundstage, designed to create a more immersive and spatially accurate listening environment within the vehicle cabin.
Development of the system involved close collaboration between Mulliner, Naim, Focal and Dolby, with engineering teams working across concept, integration and final tuning. The result is a fully integrated audio solution rather than a collection of individual components.
Design has also been a key consideration, with bespoke Champagne Gold speaker grilles featuring an openwork rosette pattern intended to support both acoustic transparency and visual integration within Bentley’s interior design language.
The introduction of ‘Naim for Mulliner’ builds on the long-standing partnership between Bentley and Naim, which began in 2008, and reflects a continued focus on combining high-performance audio engineering with luxury automotive design.
