Bang & Olufsen launches limited edition Beolab 90 Titan Edition

Bang & Olufsen has unveiled the new Beolab 90 Titan Edition, a bold reimagining of its flagship speaker, crafted to celebrate the brand’s 100-year anniversary.

Born from the visionary minds of Bang & Olufsen’s Atelier artisans, the Beolab 90 Titan Edition merges technical brilliance with sculptural elegance.

At the heart of the Beolab 90 Titan Edition lies its bespoke 65kg aluminium cabinet, which has been hand-sandblasted using fine particles from crushed volcanic rock to produce a raw yet elegant texture. While the structural core of the speaker comes across as raw and exposed, the polished base panels give the illusion of levitation.

The Atelier artisans have imbued the Titan Edition with refined details. Every detail – from precision engineered fittings to the delicate aluminium rings encircling each woofer – has been refined to highlight the contrast of matte and polished finishes.

The face mask atop the speaker is machined from a single block of solid aluminium, requiring 12 hours of precision milling to craft each finished piece and the fine machine grooves surrounding every speaker are milled to radiate like sonic ripples, creating a visual echo of sound waves, while the top lid of the speaker is meticulously machined to evoke the glow of a lighthouse.

Even the fasteners are uniquely crafted, and the front knots feature light-passing aperture holes. Laser-engraved details pay tribute to Bang & Olufsen’s centenary and the legacy of the original Beolab 90. Each fastener bears a commemorative engraving, while discreet inscriptions around the speaker drivers highlight the acoustic innovations that defined the original model.

The Beolab 90 Titan Edition is the first in a series of five exclusive creations handcrafted by Bang & Olufsen’s Atelier in celebration of the brand’s centenary. Crafted in very limited numbers, every set is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity underscoring its collectible stature.

Over the coming months, four additional editions will be unveiled – each one a distinct interpretation of the Beolab 90, designed to captivate collectors and connoisseurs alike.

Together, these five editions will form a curated celebration of Bang & Olufsen’s 100-year legacy.

Originally launched in 2015, the Beolab 90 remains the pinnacle of Bang & Olufsen’s acoustic innovation – a flagship loudspeaker that combines bespoke industrial craftsmanship with advanced DSP and beam-forming technology. Each sculptural tower houses 18 hand-made speaker drivers driven by a dedicated amplification and processing architecture that delivers the speaker’s headroom and control.

The result is a speaker capable of delivering precise “sweet-spot imaging” for solitary listening, or open to a full 360-degree soundfield for social listening – all while delivering the transparency and power expected at the highest end of audiophile performance.

As a technology incubator, the Beolab 90’s innovations, such as advanced room compensation and beam-forming control, have trickled down to a wide range of products, from the Beolab 50 and Beolab 28 loudspeakers to the Beosound Theatre soundbar and Beosound Balance wireless speaker. The same pursuit of precision, control and clarity that defined the flagship loudspeaker now also inspires the engineering philosophy behind the flagship Beoplay H100 headphones and the brands latest wireless earphones Beo Grace.

“For 100 years, innovation and design have been at the heart of Bang & Olufsen. The Beolab 90 Titan Edition pays homage to our iconic, flagship speaker – a product that has shaped much of our acoustic philosophy. But more than a celebration of our legacy, this edition showcases a level of craftsmanship and bespoke capability that only Bang & Olufsen can create. It is a bold statement of what’s possible when artistry, technology and vision converge,” says Kristian Teär, CEO of Bang & Olufsen.
