Ajax expands its video surveillance range with three new hybrid illumination cameras designed to improve image quality and object recognition in low-light conditions. The new models — BulletCam HL, TurretCam HL, and DomeCam Mini HL — combine infrared (IR) and white light illumination to deliver colour footage even at night.
According to the company, switching from IR to white light when motion or objects are detected allows the cameras to capture details such as vehicle features and clothing colours that might otherwise be missed. The white light also acts as a visual deterrent for intruders. BulletCam HL and TurretCam HL offer up to 50m of illumination, while the compact DomeCam Mini HL covers up to 15m.
The cameras offer three operating modes: white light always on in low-light conditions, completely disabled, or activated only when motion is detected. In the latter mode, the light stays on for 30 seconds after motion detection and remains active if movement continues.
Ajax says the new line-up provides a choice of 5MP CMOS sensors with 3K resolution or 8MP sensors with 4K resolution, each available with either a 2.8mm or 4mm fixed lens. The 2.8mm lens offers a 100°–110° viewing angle for wide coverage, while the 4mm lens narrows to 75°–85° for greater detail. Models are available in black or white finishes to suit different environments.
AI-based object recognition enables the cameras to distinguish between people, vehicles, and pets. Detection zones can be configured down to a pixel in the Ajax app to reduce false alarms. Recording can be continuous, event-based, or triggered only by specific detections. All AI processing is carried out in the camera, ensuring quick responses and privacy without requiring extra hardware or subscriptions.
Privacy features include user-controlled access to live and recorded footage, disabled audio recording by default, and the ability to create privacy zones that block sensitive areas from view. The cameras use passwordless authentication and mTLS protocol for secure connections, and all data is stored in the EU in compliance with European data protection standards.

The company highlights its JetSparrow technology, which uses peer-to-peer architecture, TLS encryption, and advanced routing to maintain stable, low-latency connections even on unstable networks. The devices are NDAA-compliant, with components sourced from approved manufacturers.
Ajax hybrid illumination cameras integrate with third-party video surveillance systems via ONVIF and RTSP protocols, making them suitable for retrofits and large-scale projects. When connected to the Ajax ecosystem, they can trigger other devices such as sirens or lighting, and provide visual verification of alarms.
Built for professional use, the cameras feature IP65 weather protection, IK08 impact resistance, and microSD card storage up to 256GB. Installation is designed to be straightforward, using familiar Ajax app workflows, with over-the-air updates providing new features.
Ajax says the new cameras offer a combination of night-time colour visibility, AI detection, and system integration, helping customers identify threats quickly and respond effectively.
