Make Room For ADI | Snap One

Following the recent Control4 Appreciation Celebration Event held at the excellent Arding Rooms by ADI | Snap One, EI was keen to learn more about the brand’s relationship with this new venue and what opportunities it presents for installers.

Mark Reynolds, Vice President & General Manager EMEA, ADI | Snap One, explains how the relationship began, “Richard Reid, Director at SCCi Alphatrack, (successful multi-discipline integration company), is a long-time Partner and friend of Control4 and introduced us as he has worked with X&Y, the business owners of the Arding Rooms, in the past and knew we were looking for a collaboration site in London.”

Arding Rooms is located in what was one of the capital’s longest serving and earliest department stores, Arding & Hobbs. The building is a local landmark at Clapham Junction, South London and is steeped in local history and cultural significance. Already a stunning building on the outside and particularly the inside, the property has been transformed into a vibrant multi-use business, leisure and community hub with input from SCCI and the Control4 platform.

Mark explains, “We knew the building had a rich history as one of London’s leading department stores in Victorian times but the architecture, location and layout, particularly the function rooms, were what impressed us most along with Phil Nevin on their leadership team who was really open to the idea and great to work with from the outset.”

So, what exactly is the ADI | Snap One presence in the venue? Mark reveals, “We have a fairly light touch thus far in terms of installed technology as we came upon the opportunity late in its fit-out stage but we have Control4 running the Silk meeting room and the main function areas along with other ADI brands such as Episode Commercial audio, Triad amps and Binary media distribution. Our dealers can use the space with us to meet clients in fabulous surroundings including the Members Club restaurant and demo the technology.”

So now the presence is established, what comes next? Mark explains, “We would like to continue enhancing the demo facilities with more of our solutions so that our dealers who may not have their own showrooms can use this space with us to host clients. We also plan to host regular events in the Arding Rooms themselves as it’s an exceptional venue but also on the large roof terrace.”

EI can attest to the impressive and aesthetic facilities available inside and the roof terrace also provides a highly impressive and large space with striking views over this part of London.

The recent Control4 Appreciation event played to a packed house and is part of a long tradition of the brand showing its appreciation for the continued support it receives from dealers.

Mark underlines, “The purpose of the event was to meet key Control4 customers to show our appreciation for their partnership and update them on the latest investments in Control4 and other brands since the acquisition of Snap One by Resideo and our integration into their ADI Global Distribution business.

“We are launching some key new products and solutions such as Control4 X4 and Connect, Lux Lighting and Episode Business Music Solution to name a few. Additionally, ADI has invested in a 7500m2 Operations Centre in Oldham and two new Control4 UK training rooms which have rolled out the new C4CT, Control4 Certified Technician, curriculum to further drive quality control and excellence for our customers.”

So a busy time for Control4 and the other brands under the ADI | Snap One global umbrella. This activity can now be bolstered as dealers can host clients along with their ADI sales representative and make full use of this attractive space. Dealers can gain access by speaking to their ADI | Snap One sales contact and also discuss membership of the Arding Rooms should that be something they wish to explore.
