Loewe, the luxury TV brand, has partnered with fellow German technology firm ISE to introduce what the partners says is the first ever KNX module for a TV set. The new technology will be previewed on the ISE stand at the Light & Build show in Frankfurt.
The ISE KNX module enables integration with a KNX-based install, offering consumers the opportunity to integrate their TV within the smart home environment, enjoying its benefits as part of their day-to-day routines.
For example, installers could use a motion detector to track when the client wakes up and switches on the Loewe TV to a favourite channel, or in the evening bring some drama to a movie night by matching mood lighting with the TV.
Connection to a KNX system would of course also allows the TV to take part in other macros such as ‘all off’ when leaving the property, or the TV could perform simulated occupancy sequences.
The introduction provides another way for the brand to find a place in fully automated homes to add to the certified IP and RS232 drivers for Crestron and Control 4, plus drivers for other brands such as Savant and RTI.
