Those wishing to get the most out of 4K are already well catered for if they opt to purchase an Xbox One X, but now there’s yet another reason it’s the best 4K device available for media rooms. That’s because YouTube can now be enjoyed in 4K on both the Xbox One X and Xbox One S.
Google has been quite slow at rolling out 4K support to the Xbox One platform, after all the Xbox One S launched with support for 4K back in August 2016. That means it’s taken well over a year for YouTube to adopt the standard. In fact, Microsoft has had time to unveil the Xbox One X in the time Google has had to update the YouTube app.
In addition to 4K support, YouTube will also be gaining HDR support on the Xbox One X and S. Unfortunately, that’s not coming this week, with Microsoft telling users to stay tuned for updates.
