Sony Europe has announced the availability of the 55, 65 and 75in XF90 4K HDR TVs which debuted at CES 2018 in Las Vegas. These models are now in stock at major Sony authorised retailers and distributors across Europe.

The XF90 Series packs the X1 Extreme 4K HDR processor, which has been popping up in many of Sony’s high-end TVs as of late. This processor features 14-bit signal processing, which is capable of breaking up solid bands of colour to smooth out the gradation between shades. This should mean that users enjoy colour levels 64 times better than a standard conventional display.

In addition to the X1 Extreme processor, Sony has also equipped the XF90 with its X-tended Dynamic Range PRO 6x technology, which should bring more detail in dark scenes, while making bright scenes brighter. In fact, as the name suggests, this technology should deliver six times the contrast of a standard LED TV.

The final flagship Sony technology to feature on the XF90 is X-Motion Clarity, which helps keep fast action smooth and clear, with images precisely controlled to minimise blur without loss in brightness. This has been designed specifically to make watching fast-paced content more enjoyable, such as sporting events or action movies.

It’s not just Sony’s technology that features on the XF90, but also support for Dolby Atmos. Although users will need to pair the TV with a Dolby Atmos-compatible soundbar or sound system, once paired users can enjoy full 3D surround sound without the fuss.

RRP pricing for the UK and Ireland is as follows:

  • 75in – £3,999/€4,699
  • 65in – £2,299/€2,699
  • 55in – £1,699/€1,999
