McIntosh is looking to raise the bar in with the launch of two streaming products: the MSA5500 Streaming Amplifier and the DS200 Streaming Audio Player. These additions bring cutting-edge connectivity, intuitive user experiences and the signature McIntosh sound combined with convenience.
The MSA5500 Streaming Amplifier is an all-in-one solution that combines high-performance streaming and amplification in one elegant chassis. Delivering 500W per channel at 8 ohms (and 800 watts into 4 ohms), the MSA5500 is capable of driving demanding loudspeakers while retaining musical finesse. McIntosh’s proprietary Autoformer technology ensures that this power is delivered consistently, regardless of speaker impedance.
Streaming capabilities are delivered by the company’s Connect platform, offering compatibility with TIDAL, Spotify Connect, Apple AirPlay 2 with Roon Ready support. With Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity, the MSA5500 integrates into modern smart homes and control systems. A custom-designed user interface, accessible via the McIntosh Connect app, brings intuitive control and browsing across services and sources, all wrapped in the classic McIntosh aesthetic with the signature blue watt meters front and centre.
The DS200 Streaming Audio Player is a standalone source component for those who already own a McIntosh amplifier or wish to add high-end streaming to an existing system. Built on the same Connect platform, the DS200 offers the same suite of streaming options and control features.
The DS200 houses a premium DAC supporting high-resolution audio formats up to 24-bit/192kHz, as well as DSD512 via USB. Outputs include balanced and unbalanced analogue, plus digital options, allowing integration with a wide variety of systems.
For integrators, both models offer IP and RS232 control, making them well suited to automation platforms such as Control4 or Crestron. Whether used as a standalone solution in a media room or integrated into a multi-zone whole-home system, these streamers offer the sound quality, reliability, and visual appeal expected from McIntosh.
