New from Optoma is the next evolution of its GT5000 ultra short throw home entertainment projector, the GT5000+. Providing 3,600 lumens, Optoma says the new projector performs even better when used with the lights on.
The GT5000+ can project full HD 1080p resolution images up to 100” diagonal from 30cm away, free from any cables running across the room, and has been designed for people who enjoy watching films, sports and TV on a big screen, whilst also being suitable for gaming due to a 33ms input lag.
Designed to be easy to set up, the GT5000+ can be moved from one room to another, and comes equipped with a built-in speaker that delivers 16W audio. An audio output connector is also included, enabling connection to external sound systems.
The projector’s connectivity includes two HDMI and two VGA inputs for connection to any device, meaning games consoles, Blu-ray players or digital television set top boxes can be simultaneously connected. It can also be turned into a smart projector by connecting an HDMI dongle like the HDCast Pro, Google Chromecast, Amazon Fire or Apple TV to play games, stream videos and share photos on a big screen.
The GT5000+ displays true 3D content from almost any 3D source, including 3D Blu-ray players, 3D broadcasting and the latest generation games consoles. Support for 144Hz rapid refresh rate provides flicker free images, while the 3D-sync port can connect to an Optoma ZF2300 starter kit – required for 3D viewing (although this is sold separately). For maximum contrast and brightness, it can be used with Optoma’s 100” ambient light rejecting ALR100 screen.
The unit is available now and the MSRP is £1,099.99.
