Michell Launches Revolv Turntable

British turntable specialist Michell has unveiled the Revolv, a new model that bridges the gap between its minimalist TecnoDec and the iconic Gyro. Designed and built in the UK, Revolv embodies over four decades of precision engineering, bringing the clarity, musicality and build quality synonymous with the Michell name to a wider audience.

Positioned as a major evolution of the TecnoDec platform, Revolv incorporates design cues and technology inspired by the Gyro. “The GyroDec has long been a much-coveted product for discerning audiophiles,” says Jonathan Nye, Managing Director of Michell Audio. “With the launch of Revolv, we’ve taken key Gyro features, including continuous development in skeletal turntable design and advances in manufacturing and measurement, to deliver a deck that offers exceptional musical detail and dynamism for its price point. We’re confident this engineering tour-de-force will delight fans of analogue music reproduction.”

Revolv’s rigid 19mm aerospace-grade aluminium chassis, machined from a single block, provides direct mechanical grounding and a stable foundation to control and dissipate unwanted vibrations. Each foot features six bespoke Sorbothane damping nodes to isolate the turntable from external interference. Combined with a precision tonearm mounting that is rigidly coupled to the chassis, the design ensures minimal colouration, precise energy transfer, and enhanced low-level musical detail.

A hallmark of Michell innovation, the inverted bearing—first made famous by the Gyro—is carried over to the Revolv. Its mono-helix groove circulates oil for consistent low-friction rotation, minimising wear and ensuring longevity. The Delrin platter, chosen for its vibration damping properties and impedance closely matched to vinyl, delivers a neutral sonic character. The platter also carries Michell’s signature solid brass weights, adding mass and rotational momentum for ultra-stable speed performance and reduced wow and flutter.

Drive comes from a new isolated, free-standing motor and a highly regulated, electromagnetically shielded PSU, machined from a single billet of aluminium. The design echoes the styling of Michell’s recently launched Apollo phono stage, with electronic speed selection for 33.3 or 45 RPM.

Created to grow with its owner, the Revolv offers upgrade-ready architecture and timeless aesthetics designed to provide many years of listening pleasure and pride of ownership.

For PMC Distribution UK, Michell’s appointed distributor, Alister Smith, Sales Manager – Home Audio, comments: “The new Revolv is a superb platform for extracting untainted music and a stunning example of thoughtful British engineering. Packed with trickle-down technology from the incomparable Gyro, it opens up huge opportunities for more people to hear their music sounding better than ever.”
