Magico is growing its S-Series line with a new high-end speaker dubbed the S7.

The S7 is a full range, three-way design, floor standing loudspeaker and incorporates a new tweeter, midrange and bass driver designs which are derived from the company’s £130,000 M-Project loudspeaker.

Each speaker features an acoustic suspension enclosure, which has curved aluminium side panels that are machined in-house from half-inch thick aluminium extrusions, which are 16in in diameter.

Internal bracing throughout the enclosure also promises to minimise resonance and create an ‘ideal operating environment’.

The internals of the S7 boast three new 10in bass drivers that, according to Magico, have extremely powerful magnets and ultra-stiff aluminium cones which Magico claims are capable of producing ‘deep powerful bass frequencies with speed and accuracy’.

The 6in midrange driver utilises a material which is formulated using Arkema Multi-Wall carbon nanotube and XG Sciences C750 Nanographine, when combined this is reportedly 20% lighter and 300% stiffer than previous cone material designs.

The neodymium base motor system uses two extra-large magnets which are said to provide an ‘ultra-stabilised’ magnetic field for the pure titanium voice coil to operate within.

There’s also a 1in tweeter that features a diamond-coated beryllium diaphragm. Magic has utilised Finite Element analysis modelling tools to create the optimised geometry for this tweeter.

As expected from Magico, the company has utilised its Elliptical Symmertry Crossover topology for acoustically integrating all five drivers in the S7.

The Magic S7 is expected to go on sale in July with prices starting at £58,000 and ranging to £64,000, depending on the specified colour finish.
