Prove your humanity

LG Smart TV owners can now download movies and TV shows from the Google Play store.

The Google Play Store will be compatible with LG’s WebOS TVs and those running NetCast 4.0 and 4.5.

Users will be most familiar with Google Play if they own an Android smartphone or tablet.

The store is also available on iOS and Roku media streaming boxes and is available in 102 countries around the world.

Thousands of movies and TV show titles are available on Google Play from all the major Hollywood studios, with users being given the option to resume previously watched content no matter what device it’s played on.

For instance if a user is doing a Breaking Bad marathon on their smartphone, they could then get home and start from where they left off on their LG TV.

“The smart TV market is growing rapidly and with that comes a tremendous demand for fresher, higher-quality content,” says In-kyu Lee, senior vice president and head of the TV and monitor division at the LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company.

“Meeting this demand is LG’s highest priority, matched only by our desire to provide the best possible viewing experience on our TV products with the webOS platform.

“Our close partnership with Google will go a long way toward fulfilling the high expectations of LG Smart TV owners.”
