Karma-AV is making bold steps in the UK speaker market; promising to ‘redefine high performance audio in the sub £1k market’ with the SVS Prime Series.

The SVS Prime Series comprises of tower, bookshelf, centre and satellite models, which will all be offered for under £1,000.

The Prime tower speaker comes equipped with a completely new 3.5-way crossover that is said to ensure a full, flat and seamless frequency response from the tweeter to the midrange driver.

It also boasts two individually tuned and isolated 6.5in woofers. This design is said to create deep bass extension and a coherent sonic presentation for home theatre and stereo applications.

Pricing begins at £819 including VAT in ‘Black Ash’, with the Piano Gloss version costing £969.

The Prime bookshelf has been created for two-channel purists and home theatre fans alike, according to SVS.

Designed to perform either as a standalone reference monitor, surround or front channel speakers and is specified with a stiffened polypropylene cone, a refined motor with aluminium shorting ring for reduced distortion and a vented voice coil former.

The 1in aluminium done tweeter utilises an FED-optimised diffuser for a wide and detailed high frequency response, while the 6.25in woofer is said to deliver articulate bass and outstanding extension.

Installers wanting the bookshelf speaker will have to cough up £399 for the ‘Black Ash’ version, while ‘Piano Gloss’ will set them back £479.

The Prime centre is a three-way, four-driver design feature a 1in aluminium dome tweeter, dedicated 3.5in midrange driver and dual 5.25in woofers.

SVS’ SoundMatch technology claims to ‘ensure a smooth transition between drivers for articulate expression and on/off axis accuracy.’

Prices start at £289 for the Prime centre, with prices rising to £369 for the Piano Gloss variation.

The company’s first satellite speaker is the Prime satellite, which comes equipped with a 1in aluminium dome tweeter and 4.5in polypropylene cone woofer.

SVS is aiming the satellite at those needing a compact standalone speaker or something to match with the company’s subwoofers in multichannel systems.

The Black Ash and Piano Gloss editions of the satellite speakers will cost £219 and £289, respectively.
