Prove your humanity

f you blink in the HDMI world, you are behind the curve these days.

HDconnectivity, the UK-based company that makes HDMI signal distribution products for both the commercial and residential markets under the HDanywhere brand name, is not blinking these days.

The company is set to debut in its booth at the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) show (February 10-12 in Amsterdam) its new LayerCake product that combines a video matrix, audio matrix and amplifier all in one unit.

The booth (5-R114) will feature a full demo of a 2.1 audio distribution setup.

The LayerCake product will take the hassle out of distributing the bass signal throughout the home according to Chris Pinder, managing director for HDconnectivity.

Chris calls HDMI in general “a moving target” and emphasises some key questions that integrators should ask their HDMI product providers at the show.

Namely, what plans do they have in place to handle the new HDMI 2.0 spec, and how are their feature sets able to handle the new Ultra HD Blu-ray products?

“If they can’t answer those questions move on to the next booth,” he says.
