Geneva has revealed AeroSphère, which can be controlled using either an App or handset to create a multi-zonal music system that works with multiple sources at once.
Utilising wireless active speakers in two sizes together with an optional network-connected entertainment module, users will be able to utilise CD, DAB/DAB+, FM radio, line-in as well as online music streaming services all wirelessly around the house.
While the functionality of the speakers has been an important feature of Geneva’s AeroSphère speakers, the company particularly focused on design to ensure that it looked like nothing else on the market.
Geneva has chosen to use a blend of steel and spherical polymer to ensure a premium look for its speakers, with users being given the choice to have it finished in red, white or black fabric – dependent on their tastes.
While the App will allow users to control their speakers directly from their iPhone, iPad or Android device; AeroSphère also supports AirPlay, DLNA and high quality aptX Bluetooth.
Through the use of AirPlay or DLNA, users will be able to control multiple AeroSphère speakers within network range and play a variety of music files that are both locally stores and those found on streaming services like iTunes, Spotify Connect and Deezer.
The three speakers available are the AeroSphère Large, AeroSphère Small and the AeroSphère Base.
From table-top or optional stand, the AeroSphère ‘Large’ wireless active stereo speaker system has been designed to be ‘deceptively compact’.
Utilising Geneva’s proprietary ‘embracing sound’ DSP, the company promises that the sound produced by the AeroSphère Large will be ‘size-defying, detailed and wide’.
The domed cabinet, which measures approximately 40cm across, houses two 1in tweeters, two 4in woofers and an up-firing 6in subwoofer, arranged within three separate acoustic chambers and powered by dedicated amplifiers individually optimised by proprietary DSP for accurate audio reproduction.
The up-firing woofer ensures that bass quality remains consistent in the room, but for added fine tuning, DSP presets available from the App optimise response according to room position: freestanding, single boundary and corner.
Designed for shelf or optional stand, AeroSphère ‘Small’ is a wireless active mono speaker with DSP soundstage enhancement, which can be paired to operate in stereo through the AeroSphère App.
Having the form factor of its larger range-mate but approximately half the size, AeroSphère ‘Small’ is conceived to extend spacious high quality sound to bedrooms and dining areas.
Its rescaled audio system comprises a 1in tweeter and 4in woofer individually chambered and driven by DSP controlled amplifiers.
AeroSphère Base is an App-controlled network device designed to multiply the sources available to as many as four AeroSphère speakers simultaneously.
With the Base on the network, CD, FM/DAB/DAB+ radio (with presets) and a further line source can be added to the system, augmenting content streamed to the speakers from PC, smartphone and tablet.
Pricing for the AeroSphère will begin at £349 for AeroSphère Small, with prices rising to £449 for AeroSphère Base and £649 for AeroSphère Large. Pricing for dedicated floor stands is set at £149.
