Fyne Audio Unveils F701SP Loudspeaker, the brand’s first F700 series stand-mount ‘Special Production’ model.
F1-Series engineering meets the F700 series’ contemporary cabinet design as Fyne Audio unveils its first F700 stand-mount Special Production loudspeaker.
Fyne Audio has launched the F701SP, its first stand-mount ‘Special Production’ loudspeaker in the F700 line-up. Built and hand-finished at the brand’s new Glasgow factory, the F701SP brings much of the technology, tuning and award-winning performance of the best-selling F1 Series to a sleek contemporary stand-mount design.
Joining Fyne’s most ambitious move into mainstream premium loudspeaker aesthetics with the F702SP and F703SP launched earlier this year, the F701SP similarly boasts an F1 Series IsoFlare driver, F1 Series derived BassTrax porting system, and F1 Series specification crossover and internal wiring. Enhancing the existing F701 model that will remain in the line-up, the F701SP brings further refinement, articulation to the sound and a new finish option.
The F701SP’s 8in/200mm IsoFlare driver is derived from the award-winning F1-8, featuring a 200mm multi-fibre bass / midrange cone with FyneFlute roll surround, crossing over at 1.8kHz to Fyne’s 25mm magnesium dome compression tweeter. The net result is a 200mm point source, time-aligned, full-range driver that helped the F1-8 become one of Fyne’s best-selling premium loudspeakers with 5-star reviews around the globe. Engineering and build have been significantly uprated over the original F701 design to create a true flagship stand-mount loudspeaker, says the maker.

Core strength
Internally, the F701SP boasts upgraded electronics and Deep Cryogenic Treatment of the entire crossover in Fyne’s own cryo-chamber in its new Glasgow factory. Further refining performance, this new model gets SP Series high-end cabling from Neotech and terminals from WBT, adding to the premium design specification.
Comments Fyne Audio’s Sales Director, Max Maud, “The F1-8 and F701 are our most successful stand-mount loudspeakers since the company launched in 2017. Customers have been asking for a model closer to the F1-8 in performance yet retaining the F701’s smooth, contemporary design language. We set our head of Design, Dr Paul Mills, to seamlessly merge our F1-8 technology and performance with F701 architecture to create the F701SP.”
The passive crossover is hand-built with silver alloy solder and includes flagship components such as ClarityCap high-grade capacitors and Neotech’s PC-OCC wiring. The entire unit is then subject to Fyne’s unique in-house Deep Cryogenically Treated process to relieve stresses in the crystalline conductors and joint structure.
The premium cabinet’s downward firing port and sophisticated BassTrax Tractrix 360degree LF diffuser ensure the F701SP offers the high-power handling (360W) and high sensitivity (91db/W) required to recreate musically engaging dynamics. The BassTrax radial LF output smooths LF integration into the room and offers greater flexibility in speaker positioning over traditionally ported cabinet design.
Available in F700 finishes [Piano Gloss Black, Piano Gloss White, Piano Gloss Walnut] and a new satin Natural Walnut Veneer, the F701SP offers Fyne’s premium stand-mount performance in a range of finishes to suit every home.
