Fusion Research will begin shipping directly after this week’s CEDIA Expo In Dallas with two-way drivers for Control4, RTI, URC and Crestron all available by year end.
Additional drivers will come in the new year.
Through the Fusion Research Play-Fi Server, all DTS Play-Fi products and these home automation systems will now be compatible with each other, with no additional hardware or integration required.
Fusion Research says its partnership with DTS is a natural fit, as the Ovation line of products has established itself in the past several years as a popular choice for installers with its two-way drivers for virtually all the major automation companies.
Fusion Research’s VP of Sales, Ingo Schmoldt, says: “We were intrigued by the Play-Fi ecosystem’s reputation for delivering high quality wireless audio regardless of device, platform or brand and were really impressed with the partners that have chosen to work with DTS Play-Fi technology.
“With our new Play-Fi product, we essentially open up the custom channel for wireless speakers and amplifiers from all of these leading audio companies, with control drivers for most of the major automation companies.”
Dannie Lau, general manager, Play-Fi Division at DTS, adds: “Home automation and distributed, whole-home audio streaming have long been cornerstones of the custom-install industry.
Finding a bridge to home automation systems is a natural evolution of the DTS Play-Fi platform. Fusion is an ideal fit for the Play-Fi ecosystem and ensures that the technology’s high definition, wireless solutions are now easily controlled by the major automation manufacturers.”
The Play-Fi Server is a six source unit with two analogue and one digital outputs, in addition to three independent Play-Fi outputs.
The system is designed to support 100% wireless Play-Fi environments, as well as hybrid installations where a conventional wired distributed audio setup is augmented with wireless in some zones.
