dorpo has expanded its audio portfolio with the launch of the DMP-A1, a high-performance digital music player designed to serve as a versatile hub for modern Hi-Fi and personal listening systems.
Available from OneAV distribution and positioned as a multi-functional component, the DMP-A1 combines music streaming, digital-to-analogue conversion, pre-amplification and headphone amplification within a single chassis. The product is aimed at a wide range of applications, from partnering with active loudspeakers to acting as the central source in a separates-based Hi-Fi system.
The DMP-A1 supports high-resolution playback up to 32-bit/768kHz and offers compatibility with a wide range of formats, including FLAC, WAV, APE and MQA, alongside DSD files up to DSD512. Network streaming is also a core focus, with integration for services such as Tidal, Spotify, Qobuz, Apple Music, Amazon Music and Highresaudio, as well as support for Roon Ready, AirPlay, DLNA and Bluetooth streaming. Some services will be enabled via future firmware updates, according to the company.
At the heart of the design is the ESS ES9039SPro DAC chip, paired with a dual clock architecture to minimise jitter and distortion. This is supported by a third-generation XMOS XU316 processor, enabling high-speed handling of high-resolution audio formats and full MQA decoding.
Connectivity is extensive, with inputs including optical, coaxial, USB, Bluetooth and ARC. The unit can also operate as a fully balanced pre-amplifier, with differential circuitry designed to reduce noise and improve channel separation, allowing direct connection to power amplifiers or active speakers.
The DMP-A1 features a dual power supply design, separating analogue and digital circuits to optimise performance. A linear power supply feeds the audio stages, while a low-noise switching supply supports digital processing, ensuring stability and consistent operation across different mains voltages.

For headphone users, the unit includes a dedicated amplification stage with both 6.35mm and balanced 4.4mm outputs, capable of driving a wide range of headphones from 16 to 300 ohms.
Storage options are equally flexible, with support for external USB drives and network storage, alongside an internal M.2 NVMe SSD slot offering capacity of up to 8TB. A 12V trigger input and output is also included, enabling system-wide power control when used with compatible components.
The product features a precision-machined aluminium chassis with a five-inch LCD touchscreen, alongside a customisable LED volume control. The interface is powered by dorpo’s Android-based FunplayUI operating system, with additional control available via the dp SmartController app for iOS and Android devices, including a screen mirroring function for real-time control.
The DMP-A1 is available in the UK and across Europe from early Q2 2026, priced at £1,799 inc VAT end user price.
