BenQ SSI Technology and AI Cinema Deliver True-to-Life Colours from Living Rooms to Dedicated Home Cinemas
BenQ has debuted its W5850 and W4100i home cinema projectors, designed to redefine cinematic experiences with exclusive AI Cinema technology and next-generation solid-state illumination (SSI).
“As projection technology advances, consumers now seek versatile solutions for immersive, adaptable large-screen high-definition experiences that fit modern lifestyles,” says Peter Huang, President of BenQ Corporation. “Upholding our commitment to bring directors’ authentic colours to life and drive home cinema innovation, the new BenQ Home Cinema Series meets the diverse needs of home entertainment enthusiasts ranging from beginners to expert connoisseurs.”
The new Home Cinema Series features solid-state LED and laser light sources that provide superior longevity, consistent brightness and energy efficiency, helping to future-proof home cinema investments.
BenQ’s CinematicColor technology delivers factory-calibrated accuracy and meets 100% Rec.709 and 100% DCI-P3, with Delta E<3 across the range and Delta E<2 on high-end models. HDR-PRO processing enhances contrast through global and local contrast enhancement and dynamic black levels, supporting HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG formats for vivid, lifelike visuals.
Built-in noise reduction improves the appearance of compressed streaming content, while the new AI Cinema Mode analyses image composition in real time and dynamically adjusts HDR, colour saturation and sharpness. This addresses common streaming quality issues, making both blockbuster films and original series appear cinematic and immersive.
The W5850 is aimed at dark-room home cinema setups, projecting a 200-inch image with a 1.0–1.6 throw ratio, digital four-way lens shift and 1.6x motorised zoom. A 2600-lumen blue laser delivers high brightness with precise colour accuracy.
The W4100i is built for versatile home cinema rooms, featuring Android TV, AI calibration, a 3200-lumen LED light source and enhanced HDR for a vibrant viewing experience.
For living room environments, the W2720i uses AI Cinema and ambient light adaptation to optimise images based on lighting changes, maintaining quality even in less controlled spaces.
The range supports HDMI 2.1, SPDIF and eARC for Dolby Atmos and 7.1 surround sound, along with Fast Mode, which provides 17.9ms response times for gaming, sports and action films.
BenQ says the new Home Cinema Series delivers immersive, true-to-life visuals across a wide variety of viewing environments, catering to everyone from casual viewers to dedicated film lovers.
