ATEN has announced an industry first at ISE 2015, with the company bringing a 4K seamless matrix switch to the show in Amsterdam.
At the show ATEN showed off the VM6404H matrix switch which supports 4K@60Hz, HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2.
The company claims that the VM6404H is the first of its kind on the market, with other switches typically limited to lower resolutions such as 1080p.
“4K provides the viewer with crystal-clear images and greater depth – it’s perfect for producing stunning video wall displays.
“To create 4K images, the monitor and source have to be compatible and both have to support HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2. The VM6404H is the only 4K matrix switch in the industry that provides true seamless video switching,” explained Kevin Chen, president of ATEN International.
ATEN claims that the switch features video switching that can be done in almost 0 seconds and playback 4K content in real time, with no latency.
Installers needing to route 4K video to for different displays will be able to do so with the VM6404H.
ATEN has also put a built-in scaler function to unify different video source formats and render the best output resolutions on designated displays with uncompromised precision.
The switch integrates video wall functionality with an online GUI that enables installers to create eight connection profiles that can be customised into different video wall layouts.
