Designed for high-quality sound in shallow, narrow spaces, this new version of The 10 is built as a companion for LED and non-perforated projection screen walls. The UK distributor for ASCENDO is Cinehome.
ASCENDO introduced the 10 Passive Led Phantom Voice speaker at the CEDIA Expo. Described as a revolutionary, versatile solution, created to meet the growing demand for high-quality sound in shallow and narrow spaces, the product is billed as the perfect companion for big screen entertainment.
The speaker features advanced design for seamless integration, offering its 12-degree wedge shape, engineered to deliver strong sound coverage in theatres with one to three rows of seating. Whether in a home cinema or a professional screening room, this speaker ensures every seat is the best seat in the house, says the maker.
The ‘Phantom’ in the speaker’s name refers to the stereo phantom image, which can be adjusted vertically using Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology. This allows users to position the voice exactly where it belongs: at the centre of the screen in an immersive audio experience.
“This new narrow, angled design opens up a world of possibilities. Whether you need a high-performance top speaker, wide speaker, or high speaker layer, The 10 Passive Led Phantom Voice adapts to your needs,” says Todd Sutherland of Sutherland AV Marketing, distributor of ASCENDO in the United States and Canada. “It’s even ideal for traditional surround sound setups, enhancing your audio experience from every angle.”

Installation is described as simple with the included mounting brackets, allowing for ceiling- or wall-mounting at any angle. Additionally, keyhole wall mounts on the top and back of the speaker provide even more flexibility in positioning.
“The 10 Passive Led Phantom Voice promises to deliver unparalleled sound quality for anywhere near its price of $2,300, perfect for any home theatre setup,” says Geoffrey Heinzel, ASCENDO co-managing partner.
At CEDIA Expo ASCENDO demonstrated the new speaker in conjunction with the maker’s other recent release, the Director LED Wall in-ceiling speaker. Positioned below a Seymour-Screen Excellence Ambient Visionaire Black screen, three of these The10s served as balancing speakers mirroring Director models above the screen. Working together, The10s and the Directors lower the perceived phantom sound source so that voice and dialogue sound as though they are emanating from the centre of the screen.
