The team at Antiference (Stand 49) will be delivering new products that provide solutions to solve a number of problems.
First up, a feature packed HDMI modulator designed to fit with SKY Q (compatible with 1080 resolutions only at this time).
With SKY Q the question for many is ‘how can I now distribute the SKY Q box to other rooms and maintain the same control I had with my old SKY box?’
The new Conexer DMHD01R features an HDMI loop through enabling it to be connected to a local TV set (or extender or matrix) and the all-important IR control facility. Based on the SKY magic eye system, the modulator enables control of a source over the modulated coax distribution system. This is ideal for SKY Q (which has no RF or iO link control on board) or any other non-SKY source device. A transmitter sensor (supplied) can be connected to the modulator, fixed on the front of the source and using an Antiference Remotelink or 75 Series by-pass amplifier and standard magic eyes, the user is able to control the source through the modulated system in multiple locations using the existing infrastructure in most cases.
Another new feature on the DMHD01R is a USB based record/playback function, useful for signage solutions. With a USB 3.0 stick or hard drive, files can be instantly recorded or played back over the DVB-T transport stream meaning information can be supplied to the screens in the system. Also included is a scheduling facility allowing the user to pre-schedule playbacks or recordings or to play/repeat at certain times of the day or night.
For TV sets which are not compatible, Antiference has developed the DIGIBOX, a DVB-T/T2 receiver with media player. This compact unit is compatible with all Antiference modulators where some TV’s may not be. It can be connected to the TV set via HDMI or CVBS and slipped behind the TV set leaving only a simple control sensor in view. A quick, cheap and neat solution solving a common problem.
Teleste will be showcasing its own hospitality portfolio on Stands 4 and 5 which provides innovative, easy-to-use solutions for HD distribution and IPTV delivery. The company offers cost-effective choices for utilising the existing coax TV distribution cables, to bring high-speed Internet access and Wi-Fi to every room. Teleste will also be showcasing the latest in UHD matrix and distribution from both ZeeVee and PureLink. ZeeVee’s ZyPer4K supports the distribution of ultra-high definition, uncompressed 4K content, audio and other data signals using off-the-shelf 10 GB Ethernet switching technology. PureLink products are designed to ensure that whatever the application there is a solution ready to deliver full 4K and UHD signals.
Teleste’s automation abilities will be demonstrated by Demopad’s bespoke software solutions and hardware integration services. The distributor says the CENTRO 8 represents a quantum leap in home automation, bringing advanced automation capabilities to the masses, with an affordable control processor and embedded software.
Also on show will be Legrand’s capable automation brands Arteor, Vantage, NuVo and Bticino.
Always a busy stand at the show, Blustream has got off to a strong start for 2017 with the launch of several new video distribution and control solutions. Visitors can expect exclusive hands-on access to the maker’s Multicast UHD Video over IP distribution solution, the new Blustream Multi-Room Control App and the latest Custom Pro HDBaseT Matrix.
Blustream says its Multicast Video over IP solution has given installers a new offering of HDMI distribution over a 1GB network. Multicast is designed to deliver virtually latency-free distribution of visually lossless media at resolutions that exceed the capabilities of HDBaseT, all in a modular format that allows for easy adds and changes. Interactive tutorials will be taking place to get to grips with the product features and configuration.
Blustream now also offers two dedicated control Apps that increase the capability of its products. Control and configuration of matrix products, with intuitive control of third party sources and displays has never been simpler, says the company.
Blustream says the new Custom Pro matrix achieves new levels of performance and flexibility to the market and installers can now specify the I/O structure and select the relevant control and signal routing features as required for each individual project. Check it all out on Stands 136-138.

Blustream is looking to make a big impact at EI Live!
Sunlight Solutions (SLS) is hoping to impress with the company’s brand new product, a range of attractive, bespoke hand blown glass chandeliers designed and produced in the UK. Building on over thirty-years’ experience of working with blown glass, the Chandeliers are illuminated by LED modules and can be white, warm white, colour tuneable, RGB or RGBW and can also be controlled in a number of ways.
Each piece can be controlled together so that the whole Chandelier is the same colour or SLS can enable a unique amBX experience, where the company designs the chandelier to be divided up into different sections allowing for lighting effects throughout the length of the chandelier. The lights can be controlled to music or video feeds or a specially designed ambient light scene can viewed in the chandelier. Find out more on Stand 143.
The FS Cables team would love to see you on Stand 25 to chat about the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) and how it will affect you.
From July 1, 2017, most of the cables installers specify should be tested for compliance with the new CPR law. The TruHD HDBaseT Recommended Cat 5E, Cat 6 and Cat 6A cables are now CPR compliant. Take the opportunity to speak to the guys and ensure that you are ready for the change.
Installers of audio equipment will be interested in the newly-launched 16AWG weatherproof speaker cables. These cables feature a clever water blocking tape which, when in contact with moisture, swells to form a non-toxic jelly. This prevents water from travelling down the cable, making it particularly suitable for outdoor installations, while remaining clean and easy to terminate compared to jelly-filled cables.
Visitors can also pick up a copy of the new Tru Home Automation & Building Control guide for the full range of high performance cables and connectors. These include lighting control cables for most popular systems, composite cables, fibre optic cables, HDMI leads, as well as cables for alarms, access control and internal and external security.
