The DALI Lighting Awards 2026 were presented on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Light + Building. DALI Alliance, the global industry association for DALI lighting control, honoured projects that demonstrate the innovative application of DALI-based lighting systems around the world.
The DALI Lighting Awards highlight the advantages of the open DALI standardised protocol in real-world projects around the world – such as interoperability, energy efficiency, installation flexibility and advanced digital lighting control.
Compared to last year, the number of projects submitted has almost tripled. They came from Europe, Asia, America, Oceania and Africa.
“This development shows how rapidly DALI is spreading worldwide and how important open, interoperable lighting control systems have become for modern buildings and infrastructures,” says Jeremy Ludyjan, Global Marketing Manager of the DALI Alliance, during the presentation.
The prizes were awarded in 13 winner categories – three particularly commendable projects received special prizes. The awards are divided into two main categories: the Application Awards recognise real-world projects, while the Innovation Awards honour technical advances and new applications of DALI lighting control.
One manufacturer won two awards: Tridonic for the digital emergency lighting at the American University in Cairo and for the AlUla Film Residence, which uses intelligent control strategies to save energy.
In the residential building category, the winner was the Estoril Court luxury residence in Hong Kong by Zhuhai Ltech Technology. The award for commercial interior design went to Litelab for the Hindustan Unilever workplace project in Mumbai.
The system combines DALI, daylight utilisation and building management for a modern, energy-efficient working environment. A special prize was awarded to Delta Greentech for its lighting design for Dishuiyun Hall in China and its flexible lighting scenarios and successful combination of architecture and digital control.
BEGA was awarded for the exterior lighting of Akershus Fortress in Oslo. B.E.G. won with the Bosch Research and Development Facility, which demonstrates the scalability of DALI in large industrial environments.
Signify won the Smart Cities & Infrastructure category with its lighting design for Ezhou Huahu Airport in China. Helvar received the Special Award for Lublin Metropolitan Railway Station, which combines adaptive lighting control, energy efficiency and user comfort.
Crown House Technologies won for the best use of the D4i standard with the Stephen A. Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities in Oxford, which uses D4i data to optimise building management. The jury also found the implementation of DALI+ at 500 Bourke Street in Melbourne by Zencontrol to be outstanding.
In the Human Centric Lighting category, Elekon was awarded for the Acibadem Kartal Hospital in Istanbul, which uses dynamic lighting to support patients and staff. Flashnet impressed with its Washington D.C. Connected Street Lighting project, which integrates DALI into a comprehensive smart city platform.
Inventronics received a special award for the energy-efficient lighting at the Baotou Aluminium plant in northern China. Bluebottle PTY LTD won with Gate 8 in Jolimont, Australia. The jury also praised the lighting control system at Apple’s headquarters in Battersea Power Station in London as an outstanding combination of architecture, design and technology, awarding Foster + Partners and Delmatic.
“We congratulate all the winners and the highly commended projects,” says Paul Drosihn, General Manager of the DALI Alliance. “The quality and diversity of the submissions were exceptional this year and reflect the continued growth of DALI as the foundation for intelligent, interoperable lighting systems worldwide.”
The jury was composed of international experts from the lighting and control industry – designers, engineers, researchers and industry leaders.
The submission phase for the DALI Lighting Awards 2027 will start shortly. The organisers are calling on companies, designers and developers worldwide to present their projects and highlight the diversity and innovative strength of the DALI ecosystem.
