Lewis CaliburnChowmainsoft has joined the Josh.ai Developer Program and has begun developing drivers for the Josh.ai ecosystem. The first driver released under this partnership is a Somfy PoE motor driver that has been officially certified by Josh.ai, enabling seamless control of motorised shades through the Josh.ai platform.
Somfy’s Power over Ethernet (PoE) motor range provides a modern approach to motorised shading by delivering both power and network communication over a single Ethernet cable. This architecture simplifies installation, improves reliability and allows each motor to be individually addressable on the network. The result is a scalable shading solution suitable for both residential and commercial installations.
Through this new certified driver developed by Chowmainsoft, Somfy PoE motors integrate directly with Josh.ai, enabling intuitive control through Josh.ai’s touch, text and voice interfaces.

The integration provides IP control of Somfy PoE motors within the Josh.ai platform. It enables automatic discovery of motors, along with automatic recovery if devices reconnect to the network.
Users can control individual shades, including open, close, stop and position adjustment, as well as manage group shade control with the same functionality. Preset position control is available via the Josh.ai virtual keypad, which also supports Wink functionality for quick device identification. In addition, Somfy PoE shades can be incorporated into broader Josh.ai scenes, allowing for more comprehensive automation.
This integration enables integrators to combine Somfy’s advanced shading solutions with Josh.ai’s modern control platform, delivering intuitive and reliable control of automated shading systems.
The Somfy PoE driver marks the first of several drivers currently planned by Chowmainsoft as part of its ongoing development for the Josh.ai platform.
