Daniel J SaitSmart home trade association CEDIA has announced it will be hosting a Lifestyle Technology Showcase on October 11, 2017 at The Building Centre in London.
The Building Centre was started as far back as 1931 and exists to promote innovation in the built environment. The organisation is a not-for-profit set-up focused on providing education, information and inspiration to all sectors of the built environment as well as the general public.
CEDIA explains that the event will be split into two sections, with the educational programme being targeted at interior designers, architects, and property developers, while the networking session is open to technology integrators, allowing CEDIA members with the opportunity to develop new and existing relationships with the design community.
The one-day event will take place from 9:30am – 7:00pm and will begin with CEDIA’s RIBA and BIID accredited CPD training course, ‘Designing Integrated Future-Ready Homes.’ Following the CPD, the four event sponsors will host a 45-minute presentation. The sponsors include GIRA, Control4, Artcoustic, and Lutron. These companies will also be showcasing their products on a table-top exhibition space.
Towards the end of the day, CEDIA will host a session that will discuss a real life smart home project. Attendees will gain an understanding of how to best work with a technology integrator, and what the outcome is when a good partnership is developed at the early stages of the project.
The event will conclude with a networking session. Technology integrators are being encouraged to attend the drinks reception to network and build relationships with the design community.
