New limited-availability finish joins the existing Polar and Basalt options across the Arendal Sound 1610 loudspeaker range.

Arendal Sound has introduced the 1610 Black Edition, a new finish for its 1610 Series of high-performance loudspeakers, offering customers an additional aesthetic option without changing the range’s acoustic engineering or design.
Available in limited quantities, the Black Edition joins the existing Polar and Basalt finishes across all four models in the series.
Positioned below the company’s flagship 1528 Series, the 1610 range features a three-way architecture with dedicated drivers for low, mid and high frequencies.
Central to the design is the Røst Essence Acoustic Core, an elliptical waveguide that positions a 28mm aluminium-magnesium dome tweeter and 5in dry carbon fibre midrange driver close together to achieve consistent dispersion and a stable soundstage. Bass reproduction is handled by an 8in aluminium cone woofer designed for extended low-frequency performance and reduced distortion.
A time-aligned curved front baffle angles the drivers towards the listening position to support accurate imaging, while the cabinets incorporate a 46mm laminated HDF baffle and extensive internal bracing to minimise unwanted resonance.
Designed and engineered in Norway, the 1610 Series has already received international recognition, with the 1610 Bookshelf 8 winning the EISA Best Product 2026–2027 award in the premium standmount loudspeaker category.
The range comprises four models: the floorstanding 1610 Tower 8, compact 1610 Bookshelf 8, slimline 1610 Slim 8 for on-wall or close-to-wall installation, and 1610 Center 8 centre-channel loudspeaker.
All four models share the same acoustic design philosophy and voicing, allowing customers to build multichannel systems for music and home cinema applications.
Prices for the 1610 Series start at £1,800, with the Black Edition available in limited quantities.
Arendal Sound operates a direct-to-consumer sales model, offering a 60-day home audition period, free returns during the trial and a ten-year warranty.
