Torus Power is preparing to launch its new TOT AVR series of toroidal isolation power transformers at ISE 2016.

At ISE 2016 a whole range of TOT AVR power transformers will be unveiled, each designed to be used in different markets. The TOT AVR CE will be for use in Continental Europe, while the TOT AVR UK will be distributed in the United Kingdom. For North Americans, including the USA and Canada, the standard TOT AVR has been designed for that market. There will also be TOT AVRs for Mexico, Japan and Australia.

The new TOT AVR builds upon Torus Power’s TOT series of toroidal isolation transformer products, but adds Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) to the feature list. It also come in at a lower price point.

Voltage sags, power line surges and brownouts can stress and shorten equipment life. Torus Power TOT AVR isolation transformers have been designed to address this problem with Automatic Voltage Regulation technology that provides stable voltage to keep equipment running in the optimal range of 230V +/- 10V for international voltages and 115VAC to 125VAC for North America.

To accomplish this, TOT AVR continuously monitors incoming voltage to detect high and low voltage conditions and then instantaneously triggers compensating circuitry to ensure the voltage powering equipment is always operating at optimal levels.

“The all new TOT AVR is a real breakthrough for audio/video enthusiasts,” says Kevin Main, VP sales and marketing for Torus Power.  “With the new lower price point, we’ve made our isolation transformers with automatic voltage regulation an affordable solution for anyone looking to improve the overall performance of their AV system. We are excited to showcase our new TOT AVR at ISE.”

TOT AVR boasts a variety of features including Plitron’s NBT noise-filtering technology, which restores incoming power to its clean original state, delivering an unfettered supply of high-quality audio and video regardless of power-line conditions.

The TOT AVR series also provides low source impedance to connected components and devices enabling high instantaneous current delivery that ensures dynamic components aren’t starved for power.

The TOT AVR line-up meets both IEC and Neutrik standards and shelf or rack mount configurations are available. Additionally, most models can be custom specified.

Torus Power is a Crestron Integrated Partner, a member of Savant’s Partner in Excellence Program and is now also integrated with the Ihiji Invision network management platform, which gives integrators and installers the ability to power cycle, reboot and control settings on Torus Power products remotely.

Torus Power’s products will be available to view on AV EMEA’s stand 5-R128 at ISE 2016.
