Steinway Lyngdorf extends its custom installation portfolio with the new high-performance in-wall woofer BWS-110.
Steinway Lyngdorf launches the BWS-110, a high-performance in-wall woofer specifically made for Steinway & Sons speaker installations requiring the most shallow woofer solution. The BWS-110 is the brand’s sixth woofer model in a portfolio ranging from stackable installation woofers to the in-room woofers featuring the trademark high-gloss piano lacquer.
BWS-110 stands for Boundary Woofer Shallow, incorporating one 10in bass driver and designed as a high-performance in-wall woofer for custom installations that require a shallow woofer solution yet with the best bass performance. The BWS-110 utilises a patented high excursion shallow woofer design, customised for Steinway Lyngdorf and based on an innovative voice-coil/cone geometry and suspension, which allows the highest excursion from the most space-saving construction. A four-layer voice coil, an ultra-rigid dual
aluminium cone, a very powerful neodymium magnet, and an extremely rigid cast aluminium basket provide strong bass performance, matching the sound quality of Steinway & Sons speakers.
Perfectly fits 4in/10cm wall cavities
The rigid and sealed enclosure is easy to integrate and fits 4in/10cm cavity walls, while the extended height provides the large inner cabinet volume required for high-performance bass extension. In
combination with the powerful 10in bass driver, the BWS-110 delivers an outstanding bass performance, says the maker. It is a strong solution for any media room and home cinema with no space for placing subwoofers in the room. It comes with a paintable, magnetically held grill to cover the woofer front.

Integrated System Approach for the best sound performance
As with every Steinway & Sons loudspeaker, the BWS-110 is part of the company’s Integrated System Approach, ensuring all parts of the system, from the speaker to the woofers to the digital amplifiers and the stereo or surround processors, work perfectly together as one. Steinway Lyngdorf’s incorporated RoomPerfect technology acoustically calibrates the speaker and woofer performance to the room acoustics, while the unique Bass Management achieves the best sound integration between the chosen Steinway & Sons speakers and the BWS-110 woofers. The BSW-110 production will start in October 2024 at Steinway Lyngdorf, Denmark.
