Installers in the market for a new drill may find the Bosch FlexiClick 5-in-1 cordless system to be of interest, with the company promising maximum versatility for professionals.
The Bosch FlexiClick 5-in-1 cordless system comprises the new GSR 18 V-EC FC2 Professional cordless drill/drive with drill chuck, off-set angle and angle adapters.
Bosch is also the first manufacturer to offer a rotary hammer adapter, which the company believes will offer even more versatility to its users.
While users will still be able to do the standard thing most drills do – namely screw driving through wood – users will also be able to screw through metal and concrete.
With the FlexiClick 5-in-1, Bosch is targeting kitchen fitters, cabinet makers and other tradesmen working in confined conditions.
So what exactly are the five components of the five-in-one system?
The GSR 18 V-EC FC2 Professional cordless drill/driver features a hex bit holder and can be used with all standard drill bits. It’s also the only screwdriver in its class to have a bit lock function.
Meanwhile, the GFA FC2 Professional drill chuck adapter has an auto-lock function and works with drill bits up to 13mm and should enable precise drilling in tight spaces.
The GEA FC2 Professional off-set angle adapter allows for precise screw driving close to edges, with 16 working positions to choose from without having to remove the adapter.
The GWA FC2 Professional angle adapter enables installers to screw around corners, even in very compact spaces – due to its length of 95mm.
Not forgetting the GHA FC2 Professional rotary hammer, which is reported to be the first of its kind. The hammer mechanism is integrated into the adapter and unlike conventional combi drills, users should be able to drill through concrete.
A range of pricing options are available for the FlexiClick 5-in-1 cordless drill, with prices starting at £370.80 including VAT for the GSR 18 V-EC FC2 Professional with GFA Chuck – which includes two 4.0Ah batteries, a charger and L-BOXX.
Installers also have the option to buy the kit with all the adapters, which costs £550.80 including VAT, or there’s also the option of buying adapters individually with prices ranging from £50 to £100.
