Officially launched at ISE. DM 3. is Crestron’s next version of its DigitalMedia platform.
Crestron says thanks to uncompressed bit-for-bit 4K/60 distribution and scaling, integrators can deliver brilliant razor-sharp images with smooth motion and streaming using its Ethernet infrastructure to deliver content anywhere on the network.
Described as a world first, the new 4K DigitalMedia Receiver & Room Controller w/Scaler (DM-RMC-4K-SCALER-C) can convert any resolution and frame rate to any other resolution and frame rate, up to 4096×2160 at 60 Hz.
Crestron states that now, integrators and customers can get the most out of the latest 4K displays by utilising their full 60 Hz frame rate for 1080p and 4K content alike.
The unit is powered by an exclusive scaler chip, developed in-house by Crestron.
Both the new Wall Plate 4K DigitalMedia Transmitter (DM-TX1-4K-C-1G) and Wall Plate 4K DigitalMedia Receiver (DM-RX1-4K-C-1G) are powered over DM, so all that is needed is a single cable.
Using CEC, many devices can be controlled right through their HDMI connections, eliminating the need for serial cables or IR emitters.
Available in both black and white, both devices utilise a standard electrical box for tidy, discreet installation.
