Tangent has expanded its revitalised Spectrum loudspeaker range with the introduction of the new Spectrum II X5 Active BT, a compact active loudspeaker system designed to combine modern connectivity, stylish design and high-quality audio performance.
Building on the success of the multi-award-winning original model, the Tangent Spectrum II X5 Active BT has been updated across its design, features, construction and acoustic performance.
The Tangent Spectrum II X5 Active BT features integrated 2 x 50W Class D amplification, removing the need for a separate amplifier and creating what the company describes as a complete all-in-one Hi-Fi solution. A 130mm cellulose-pulp mid-bass driver is paired with a 25mm soft-dome tweeter to deliver balanced and dynamic sound reproduction, with Tangent highlighting precise bass performance, detailed vocals and refined high frequencies.
Designed to serve as the centrepiece of a modern home audio system, the speaker offers a wide range of connectivity options. Bluetooth 5.3 with AptX HD support enables high-quality wireless music streaming, while a built-in Phono MM input allows direct connection of a turntable.
For TV integration, HDMI ARC connectivity is included, providing what the company says is a significant upgrade over standard television audio for films, TV series, concerts and gaming. Additional connections include optical, coaxial and Hi-Res USB Audio inputs, while a dedicated subwoofer output offers the option of extending low-frequency performance.
Continuing Tangent’s Scandinavian-inspired design approach, the Spectrum II X5 Active BT features a minimalist aesthetic and is available in satin black or white finishes. Its compact dimensions allow placement on furniture, bookshelves or desktops while maintaining sufficient internal volume for controlled sound reproduction.
