Daniel J SaitFirst up the SRND Group is going to offering the UK debut of the Planar UltraRes W Series, a range of Ultra-Wide 5K LCD Displays.
Neil Davidson of the SRND Group, enthuses, “This is a really big one for us as we are launching this massive brand for the luxury living market. As well as partnering with them on the best dvLED wall (the DCI certified Infinity Cinema Wall), at the show we are showing off the 105in 21:9 UltraResW display!
“We think that this is a killer solution for media rooms and small cinemas as it avoids the complexity of projection and gains most of the benefit of dvLED but in a simple contained package – it’s a big TV ultimately.”
MAG Theatron
Another big UK launch at the show comes in the form of MAG Theatron. MAG is a Ukrainian manufacturer coming from the commercial world to tackle residential with strong value and high-performance cinema speakers.
Neil explains, “They have a huge manufacturing capability and I am constantly amazed at how they just get on with it in the face of their very difficult conditions. They have literally thousands of commercial cinemas using their solutions (one of the best-known names in that market) and so the residential products come with great pedigree. At some point we plan a launch at one of the several boutique cinema chains in London using them – just need to work out who also has a Barco projector!”
SoundTube Residential (formerly MSE Audio)
The SRND Group team has represented these guys for years and have even shown active dARTS demos at EI Live! way back in the early days.
Neil says, “We have been patiently waiting for their biggest product launch in years and then they surprised us with a rebrand as well!”
The product launch is the new DSM16 which is a Dante gateway for the residential market. Offering a multitude of analogue and digital inputs it makes it easy to get signals into a Dante network, perform powerful DSP and control matrix functions.
Neil argues, “That is already a game changer but along with that is our new range of Dante architectural speakers. Unlike every other solution on the market these speakers have Dante integrated, are powered over POE (external DC power is optional) and have powerful DSP and monitoring built right in. In our new world a 16 channel audio system is now just a single DSM16, a 16 Port POE switch (we have a dedicated 40W unit) and then whatever speakers you need just plugged into Ethernet. No speaker wires, no separate amps and full monitoring right to the driver. Of course, as they are Dante you can just keep stacking systems to get truly massive scale if needed.”
