Smanos W020 Promises A Security System Without The Fuss

Smanos has revealed the W020, a security system which is all about simplicity; there’s no screen to fiddle around with, or any programming necessary, just download the App and set-up the sensors – that’s it.

The W020 has been designed for homes, SOHOs and small shops, with everything behind controlled by one little box that connects to a user’s smartphone.

Once plugged in the smanos W020 will then need to be linked to the user’s Wi-Fi and their Android or iOS device. From there users will be able to connect the various accessories available for the security system, including sensors and IP cameras.

There are no wires needed between the various accessories and the W020 – as it acts as a wireless hub communicating with everything inside a customer’s home.

If an intrusion is detected, a loud alarm will be sounded from the W020; which should ward off any potential burglars. If that doesn’t work, the user will also get a notification on their phone telling them of the intrusion.

While the W020 does need power, if there happens to be a power cut it’s still good for an extra 60 hours via its reserve battery – meaning a user’s home should never be unsecure.

There’s also little chance of the device being tampered with – as it uses proprietary wireless communication protocols to talk to the other security devices in the network.

A release date for the smanos W020 has yet to be announced, although it was shown off at CeBIT 2015 in Hannover, Germany.
