RGB’s line up will offer the Nest Learning Thermostat, Nest Cam and the Nest Protect smoke and carbon monoxide alarm in UK and Europe.

By working together, Nest and RGB Communications say they are making it easier for professional installers to bring Nest products into their business, as well as providing consumers with more ways to experience Nest in their homes.

Professional installers can now train to become a Nest pro installer and purchase products from RGB Communications in Hungerford, Berkshire.

RGB is keen to leverage the synergy between the Nest offering and its other domestic lines which include Lutron (lighting and shading) and Savant (home automation).

Andy Atwell, sales director of RGB Communications, says: “Luxury, lifestyle and convenience of the connected home are no longer just the domain of the rich and famous. We share Nest’s vision of bringing technology to the broader market and our new partnership presents an excellent opportunity for our customers to expand their offering into the mid-market.”

From the range, the Nest Cam Nest Cam lets home owners see what’s going on in the home, watch live streaming 1080p, stay connected with the Nest App and get alerts on a smart phone when sound or motion are detected.

The Nest Protect is an intelligent protection device which scans for fast-burning fires, smoldering fires and carbon monoxide.

It also tells the home-owner where the danger is and users can also hush a false alarm from a smart phone.

Perhaps the flagship of the range, the Nest Learning thermostat is on its third gen now and features a bigger, sharper display and Farsight, so users can see the time or the temperature from further away.

The product can now control a hot water tank to add to the learning and pre-emptive functions already onboard.

Nest App is now on version 5.0 and can bring together all three Nest products, across multiple platforms, making it easier to access and control Nest products.

Caroline Britt, managing director of RGB Communication comments: “I am really excited to be working with Nest as they are certainly one of the hottest properties in the thriving IoT market. Our expertise of the AV and CI industry, combined with Nest’s excellent product range and prestigious brand can only be of great benefit to us, our dealers and Nest.”

Nest pro installers get professional pricing, rewards (Nest points by RGB Communications) and terms, as well as access to exclusive training and tools, live VIP support and customer referrals to help their business grow.

Nest points are earned every time a purchase is made and installers can earn 1% back on all of their Nest purchases via Nest Points.

Installers collect one Nest Point for every £100 they spend on the Nest Learning Thermostat, Nest Protect smoke and carbon monoxide alarm or Nest Cam and can also claim prizes or vouchers via the same rewards system.

David Webster, RGB’s chief technology officer and Nest’s EU Pro trainer team will be teaching RGB’s first Nest Pro training course on Friday February 19 at the RGB offices, located in the UK at Hungerford, Berkshire, on the M4 Corridor.

Limited spaces are available; contact RGB to book your space or find out more.
