QMotion is adding FM (frequency modulation) communications and two-way communications to its line-up of motorised window coverings at ISE 2016.
All of QMotion UK’s motorised window covering products will receive the new FM communications system, which promises less electronic interference, improved battery life and an increase in remote control range, including roller shades, honeycomb shades and motorised drapery rods.
In addition to the new window covering products, several QMotion UK controls and accessories are to be updated to support the FM communications system.
The Qsync device used for the QMotion UK App for iOS and Android will now support all of the FM window products and the Qrelay, used to extend the range of the remote controls, will also be able to support the new communication systems.
The new FM products will use QMotion UK’s multi-channel Universal Decora-style remote control, designed to fit in any off-the-shelf decora wall plates and will have five channels plus an all function.
One big announcement the company is to make at ISE 2016 is its enrolment in the ZigBee Alliance.
Through its active participation in the alliance the company plans to present new communication technologies to its interactive motorised window shading system in February.
New options for control systems will include scenarios such as a single Cat 5 communication and power cable for single or dual hardwired switches alongside multiple power distribution panels, all providing two-way communication functionality.
Other new product launches include a standalone system with a router for battery-powered products and a gateway for integration into smart home automation systems.
The two-way communication function will also provide feedback on the status of the shade and will greatly enhance the battery life of the shades.
QMotion can be found in hall 11 on stand E74 at ISE 2016 in Amsterdam.
