Jordan O'BrienNest has revealed the third generation of its flagship product – the Learning Thermostat.
The latest model is more discreet than ever before, something that is likely to please many installers working with design-conscious customers.
While the second generation Nest measured 1.26in thick, the new model sheds 0.05in for a slim 1.21in profile.
Admittedly, that is not a significant difference, but customers may notice other changes made to the thermostat.
Arguably the most significant is the larger, higher resolution display.
Nest has bumped the screen size to 2.08in in diameter, while the resolution has also been increased to 480 x 480, offering a pixel density of 229ppi.
Along with the new model, Nest is also keen to add functionality with every new release.
Nest 3.0 is no different, receiving a new feature for furnace owners which will continuously monitor a furnace and notify users if something is wrong.
Previous Nest owners need not feel left out however, as the company has promised that this functionality will be coming to both first and second-generation thermostats.
While that’s the good news, the bad news is that the third generation Nest Learning Thermostat will not be launching in the UK just yet.
Invision UK has only just begun shipping the second-generation Nest, which means UK installers may have to wait a while to get their hands on the third-generation.
