Jordan O'BrienSavant has announced a new family of dedicated touchscreens for installers to use in their upcoming smart home installations, and it’s adorably dubbed ‘Wally’. While the touchscreen won’t clean up the earth and develop a crush for Eve anytime soon, these touchscreens have been designed to blend seamlessly into any décor, while placing climate, lighting, entertainment and more at the fingertips of the homeowner.
The Wally touchscreen family isn’t all that different from the various other screens on the market, although it does boast a high-resolution colour display and its high-end finish shouldn’t look out of place in a modern home. The Savant Scenes technology and the control technology is the real reason integrators will buy this product, however.
Savant Scenes personalises the smart home experience for each user, giving them the things that matter front and centre. Some customers may prefer to have quick access to lighting control, while temperature controls lie in the background – with the Wally touchscreen and Savant Scenes technology, that’s entirely possible.
In terms of hardware, the Wally consists of a 5.5in touchscreen, with a 2.9in and 8in version set to debut later in the year. Installation is achieved using a traditional single gang enclosure and a Power over Ethernet connection.
