Domotz is growing rapidly, with the company already announcing the acquisition of the world’s number one network scanning App, Fing.
Launched in 2011, the Fing App enables users to scan a network and see all the connected devices, evaluate security levels, detect intruders and resolve network issues; all from their mobile phone. Domotz is hoping to leverage that technology to give installers even more power from the palm of their hands.
“At Fing, we have always believed in building networking apps that are seamless to use and productive for our users,” says Fing’s founder. “We are very excited to continue our work together with Domotz on new products and innovations that are even more relevant and loved by our user base.”
“Domotz is more than thrilled to have the Fing team join our family,” adds Domenico Crapanzano, CEO and founder of Domotz. “They have proven they are the clear leader in network scanning and I am absolutely confident that combining our two teams will deliver the most advanced, user friendly and engaging Internet of Things (IoT) management apps the world has seen to date.”
The Fing network scanning App boasts over 12 million downloads and 6 million active users who perform over 600,000 network scans a day, discovering billions of connected devices every year around the world.
The developers behind Fing will join Domotz, which will provide additional resources into developing the Fing App, as well as creating new and never before seen monitoring systems for home and professional users. In fact, Domotz has teased that the first joint product for home users will be released in the second half of 2016.
The Fing App will continue to be free for all new and existing users, but Domotz says that it is working on licensing the Fing App scanning technology to other App makers and creating a cloud for automatic device recognition based on machine learning.
