Valerion brings anti-rainbow effect technology to premium long-throw projectors

At CES 2026, Valerion by AWOL Vision has announced the integration of its Anti-RBE (rainbow effect) technology across its entire premium long-throw projector lineup. The company has also confirmed preorder availability of the External Lens for the VisionMaster Max projector at the show.

Originally developed for the flagship VisionMaster Max, Valerion’s Anti-RBE technology addresses one of the most widely discussed limitations of DLP (Digital Light Processing) projection systems: the perception of momentary “rainbow flashes”. These flashes can occur during fast-moving scenes or high-contrast imagery, when rapid colour separation results in brief red, green and blue artifacts. While around 60% of viewers report little or no sensitivity to this phenomenon, the remaining 40% may find it visually distracting.

To eliminate this distraction, Valerion’s Anti-RBE technology increases the projector’s refresh rate and applies advanced image-processing algorithms that blend colour sequences at speeds imperceptible to the human eye. The result is reportedly a smooth, unified image that effectively removes the rainbow effect while preserving image clarity, brightness and motion sharpness, delivering a more immersive viewing experience and reducing eye strain for greater comfort during extended sessions.

“Triple-laser projectors like ours are inherently less susceptible to rainbow effects,” says Eason Zhu, Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of Valerion. “However, the Anti-RBE technology we developed for the VisionMaster Max has proven so effective, reducing rainbow artifacts to the point where they are barely perceptible, that we felt it should be available to every Valerion customer.”

Starting today, the technology will be integrated into Valerion’s preexisting range including the VisionMaster Pro, VisionMaster Pro 2, StreamMaster Plus and StreamMaster Plus 2 at no cost to existing users.

These models along with the flagship VisionMaster Max will be on display to experience throughout CES at the Valerion booth LVCC – Central Hall, booth 20410.

Launched at IFA 2025, the VisionMaster Max home cinema projector is known for its cinematic 4K RGB triple-laser performance, immersive colour reproduction and advanced smart features.

The VisionMaster Max ships as standard with a 0.9-1.5:1 throw ratio lens, optimised for lifestyle and flexible home use. However, from its inception the projector was conceived as a professional-grade imaging platform, and so has been engineered to support interchangeable lenses.

The newly available External Lens is the first such option to become available, expanding the throw ratio to 0.9 -2.0:1 and enabling long-throw installations in dedicated home theatres, large spaces and even commercial environments.

Thanks to Valerion’s Modular Quick-Swap System, users can quickly and easily remove the native lens and install the External Lens without fuss, allowing the projector to swiftly be adapted to different room configurations. The lens is engineered for edge-to-edge sharpness with no colour loss, supports screen sizes up to 300 inches and preserves the image integrity expected from Valerion’s flagship model.

The External Lens features a premium aluminium construction with a magnetic lens cap for added durability and protection. It is shipped in aerospace-grade packaging, housed in a custom-designed metal flight case and enclosed within a leather outer box, underscoring its premium positioning.

The VisionMaster Max External Lens is now available for preorder through Valerion’s online store and select retail partners. Shipping is scheduled to begin in late February 2026. The product is backed by a 30-day money-back guarantee, a two-year warranty and lifetime customer support.
