Swann has announced the UK launch of MaxRanger4K – a new home security product that delivers the longest and strongest range of any product of its kind, claims the manufacturer.
While regular wireless security cameras use 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, the MaxRanger4K is the first of its kind to use Wi-Fi HaLow 866MHz long range wireless technology. Incorporating this solution means MaxRanger4K connects for up to 250 metres in the open air or 100m metres in typical use.
With its stronger wireless signal, MaxRanger4K is perfect for everyday use in British homes of all shapes and sizes, especially those that are constructed from brick, have multiple levels, and anywhere that traditional Wi-Fi transmission can be a challenge. Its longer transmission is also ideal for hard-to-reach positions like perimeter fences on large homes, car parks, warehouses, businesses, farms and more.
Areas that have been inaccessible for Wi-Fi or unable to be secured at perimeters in the past are now able to be protected by MaxRanger4K.
The hub has 64GB local memory and cloud backup for free recording. There’s also a battery for up to five hours of back-up power to the hub in the event of a power outage on site. The MaxRanger4K is available with 2, 3 or 4 cameras and the hub. Extra cameras can be purchased to monitor up to eight cameras on the same hub.
The cameras are pre-paired with the hub for setup in minutes and have built-in solar panels meaning users never have to worry about recharging them. It’s the perfect system to prevent crime, with two-way audio and True Detect+ senses heat, motion, people and cars to reliably trigger mobile alerts, video recording, spotlights and sirens, with everything controllable in the Swann Security app.
The cameras have Sony STARVIS sensors to provide 4K colour video, day and night.
“The MaxRanger4K showcases the innovation and trust that Swann Security is known for. Its expansive signal range puts it in a class all its own, allowing for detection of threats at the early stages. The dedicated HaLow Wi-Fi technology means that even in short distances or crowded areas, the signal is stronger and the cameras won’t struggle to maintain a reliable Wi-Fi connection. This is the security system of the future and Swann is proud to be the first to offer these capabilities to our customers now,” says Alex Talevski, CEO of Swann Security.
The MaxRanger4K is available now from Swann.com and soon from leading retailers across Britain and Ireland. The suggested retail prices are £499.99 for a two-camera kit, £849.99 for a four-camera kit, while an extra camera costs £199.99.
