StormAudio unveils the Impulsion 8

StormAudio has launched Impulsion 8, a fully digital, network-aware powerhouse designed for the modern CI era.

Moving beyond traditional amplification, this CEDIA Best of Show winner combines Class-D power with native AoIP (AES67/Dante) connectivity and embedded DSP, offering integrators a smart, seamlessly integrated endpoint for the next generation of immersive home cinemas.

Housed in a sleek, compact 2RU chassis, the Impulsion 8 addresses the evolving needs of integrators who demand uncompromising power without the bulk. Powered by the latest Pascal Audio UMAC Class-D technology and a UREC 3600W power supply, it delivers 200W (8Ω) per channel, or up to 800W (8Ω) or 1200W (4Ω) Peak power in Bridged-Tied Load (BTL) mode.

This architecture ensures thermal efficiency and dynamic performance, adapting to the most intense cinema soundtracks. Thanks to its compact form factor and optimised, near-silent cooling system, the Impulsion 8 can be installed in technical racks or directly in living environments without noise distraction.

The manufacturer states that what truly sets the Impulsion 8 apart from conventional amplifiers is its advanced intelligence. The introduction of AoIP (AES67/Dante) inputs enables the amplifier to integrate natively into IP-based systems, creating streamlined, fully digital installations with reduced cabling.

Going beyond simple connectivity, later in 2026 the Impulsion 8 will also feature full DSP integration directly at the amplifier level. System designers will access PEQ, FIR filters, limiters and gain control for each channel, enabling precise calibration, phase alignment and speaker protection without the need for external processing.

Designed to save time and ensure reliability, the Impulsion 8 offers integration with the StormAudio ecosystem. When paired with a StormAudio processor, the amplifier is automatically detected and configured, reducing setup time.

Through StormMonitoring, integrators benefit from real-time visibility of the amplifier’s status via its embedded WebUI, ensuring easier management, diagnostics and long-term support both locally and remotely.

“With the Impulsion 8, we wanted to prove that you don’t need a massive footprint to achieve reference-level performance,” says Olivier Thumerel, CEO at StormAudio. “By integrating advanced DSP capabilities like FIR filters and native AoIP, we are giving integrators a tool that is not only powerful but also intelligent and future-proof.”

The Impulsion 8 can be deployed in a wide range of configurations, from advanced home cinemas to professional studios and large-scale distributed setups.

The Impulsion 8 is scheduled to begin shipping in April 2026.
