Prove your humanity

A new partnership has been announced between Sonos and Philips Hue, bringing a seamless integration of sound, voice and light to customers.

In September, users will be able to control their Philips Hue lights using Sonos Voice Control – the private voice assistant built specifically for seamless listening on Sonos speakers.

With just a simple voice command, customers can now turn Hue lights on or off, adjust brightness or colour, or activate pre-set scenes, all hands-free. This has been the most requested voice feature from users, and a natural next step for Sonos Voice Control as the brand continues delivering hands-free ease to customers.

This partnership combines immersive sound and smart lighting with intuitive and private voice control, helping customers create a more connected smart home experience.

“We built Sonos Voice Control to make controlling your music with your voice faster and easier than ever before, all with the privacy of your data staying right on your speaker,” says Nathan Hart, Senior Product Manager at Sonos. “By bringing it together with Philips Hue, we’re making it just as easy to transform lighting as it is to control music, helping users create rich, connected experiences across their home.”

Users can now control lighting with their voice using mic-enabled Sonos devices. This includes turning lights on or off, adjusting brightness and colour temperature, launching Hue scenes and even controlling smart plugs.

Privacy is fully protected, as voice commands are processed entirely on the device. There is no cloud processing, no recordings, and no internet connection required, ensuring both speed and security.

The feature will begin rolling out in September in US English and French, with worldwide availability (except in China).
