Hot on the heels of the brand’s new ACE headphone concept, Sonos has announced that Roam 2 is now available, the portable smart speaker that is made for home or out and about use.
With a compact, durable design and streaming available over WiFi and Bluetooth, Sonos Roam 2 is the versatile speaker yet from the brand.
Sony says users can enjoy richly detailed sound with the clarity, depth, and fullness expected from a larger speaker. Automatic Trueplay tuning adapts the sound to where the speaker is being used whether at home or on-the-go, so music, radio, podcasts and audiobooks sound as they should.
Roam 2 features a refreshed design and UI sporting an updated sleek monochromatic logo and separate, discrete power and Bluetooth buttons make it easier than ever to use. Sonos Roam 2 has a slim and curved silhouette designed to blend into a home, while its lightweight and ergonomic shape makes it easy to handle and carry in any bag.
Users can connect to any mobile device over Bluetooth and enjoy immediate music on the go as soon as the produced I unboxed. The recently updated Sonos app can be used to set up on Wi-Fi at home and connect to the rest of a Sonos system.
Sonos Roam 2 also automatically re-pairs with the user’s phone via Bluetooth when away from home and with Sound Swap, owners can hold play/pause to swap the music to the nearest speaker in a system, making it easy to keep the music going when you return home.
With an IP67 rating, Roam 2 is sealed from dust and fully waterproof. Silicone end caps protect it from accidental drops and turbulence in transit. Sonos Roam 2 has up to 10 hours of continuous playback on a single charge and is recharged with the included USB-C to C charging cable, the custom Sonos Roam 2 Wireless Charger or any Qi wireless charger. When not in use, Sonos Roam 2 falls asleep and retains battery for up to 10 days.
Users can access more than 100 streaming services controlled from the Sonos S2 app, voice with Amazon Alexa, or Sonos Voice Control, with Apple AirPlay 2, or directly from music service apps.
Sonos Roam 2 is available in Matte Black/While as well as Olive, Wave and Sunset for £179 in the UK.
