Prove your humanity

First introduced in 1985, Ruark has announced the return of one of the brand’s original iconic loudspeaker names and their first ever music console.

The R610 Music Console and Sabre-R bookshelf speakers revive the stereo concept as a complete music system for the modern era and embody Ruark’s journey from father-and-son venture to British hi-fi hero.

Evoking the stereo music centres of the ‘70s and echoing the rest of Ruark’s 100 Series lineup, the R610 Music Console & Sabre-R Bookshelf Speakers are designed to bring timeless style to any interior space.

From the hand-crafted cabinets to the trademark RotoDial controller and custom high-fidelity drive units, only the finest materials and components have been used to create a hi-fi system with wide ranging appeal.

A celebration of Ruark’s heritage, the speakers have been crafted and refined with the understanding of how each component combines to deliver a natural musical experience.

The Sabre-R Bookshelf Speakers are compact and formed with a high-quality finish usually only found on fine furniture, says the manufacturer.

The R610 features tactile soft touch buttons, precisely weighted control dial, and matching Bluetooth remote, while a crisp colour display confirms every command, as well as highlighting custom and album/station artwork.

Powering the music console is a modern switch mode power supply, which provides dedicated and optimised powerlines to the system’s motherboard and latest generation digital stereo amplifiers.

With audio grade components used throughout, including Burr-Brown DACs and a nominal output of 75 watts per channel, R610 is controlled and dynamic – but most importantly, it delivers a natural sound.

Thanks to its powerful CPU, R610 is able to decode the best quality audio streams, and Internet Radio, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Apple AirPlay and Google Cast are all built in.

A high quality phono preamp makes it simple to connect a turntable, while CD fans will be able to integrate Ruark’s soon-to-be launched CD Drive which will connect via the USB socket on the rear of R610. This CD Drive will also be compatible with R410 and R810.

Last but not least, R610’s HDMI ARC/eARC connection provides a solution for those seeking a system that elevates both music and film.

Customers can choose to purchase the R610 Music Console and the Sabre-R bookshelf speakers together as a complete system or individually for use with other suitable amplifiers or speakers.

“Early in 1984, my father and I were laying the foundations of Ruark and launched our first Sabre loudspeakers to great acclaim in 1985. Forty years on, the revival of analogue formats and an ever expanding world of music streaming means it’s the right time for Ruark to return to its roots with the Sabre-R. What’s more, our new R610 Music Console allows music lovers to build an entire system that looks every bit as beautiful as it sounds,” says Alan O’Rourke, Managing Director, Ruark.

The R610 music console has a suggested retail price of £1,200, and the Sabre-R bookshelf speakers £699 (per pair).
