Roksan has announced two new additions to the award-winning Caspian Series 4G: the Caspian Streaming Pre-Amplifier and Caspian Power Amplifier. These components embody pure high-fidelity performance, engineered to deliver musicality with power and control.
Together, these new models offer users the flexibility to build a system tailored to their needs, from a single stereo solution to a full mono-block configuration. With this launch, Caspian Series 4G now comprises four cornerstone components: Streaming Amplifier, Integrated Amplifier, Streaming Pre-Amplifier and Power Amplifier.
Caspian Streaming Pre-Amplifier
The Caspian Streaming Pre-Amplifier is the control hub of any Caspian system. It features BluOS streaming capability, Roon Ready integration and a fully balanced analogue pre-amplifier section. With internal custom-built antennas for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, it ensures seamless connectivity while maintaining a sleek profile.
Its ground switching input design minimises cross-talk between connected devices, while the use of multiple dedicated power supplies is designed to ensure the cleanest delivery of current with minimal noise.
Caspian Power Amplifier
The Caspian Power Amplifier is engineered to deliver drive and power, whether used in stereo or mono-block configuration. It harnesses Roksan’s Euphoria amplification architecture and analogue circuitry to ensure a transparent signal path that preserves every detail and dynamic nuance of the music.
Roksan’s engineers have carefully scrutinised both voltage and current amplification stages. The brand says the result is “exceptional soft-clip behaviour”, tuned through extensive listening sessions to extract maximum SPL before perceptual degradation occurs.
Caspian Series 4G utilises Roksan’s Rapture DAC technology; a differential current-conveyor topology, which allows more information to be extracted for the best possible analogue reproduction.
This topology has several measurable advantages over the traditional approach to digital to analogue reconstruction using op-amp ICs. The current-conveyor has superior gain-bandwidth characteristics essential for faithful high-resolution audio reproduction. Moreover, despite being discrete (no off-the-shelf solution exists) it relies on a single circuit element for gain matching. Therefore, it can be utilised effectively in a discrete-component level solution.
Caspian Series 4G uses Roksan’s class AB amplifier architecture, Euphoria, which is optimised to excel in power. Roksan has evolved the AB topology, with individual power supplies for the current and voltage amplifiers.
Caspian Series 4G’s volume control encapsulates the best of both the digital and analogue worlds. A hybrid digital-analogue volume control algorithm leverages digital signal processing to facilitate tone controls and system matching.
Accessed via the MaestroUnite app, Caspian Series 4G’s intelligent DSP engine optimises a user’s listening experience through the application of four key technologies: Intelligent Tone, Intelligent Boundary, Intelligent Speaker and Intelligent Phono. In combination, these technologies allow users to fine-tune their listening experience to their environment.
Customisable input icons allow easy source selection, while a new progress indicator displays features such as track length, while internal, fully custom-built antennas feature reflectors to protect sensitive circuits from interference.
BluOS remains Roksan’s streaming partner of choice for the Caspian Streaming Amplifier, providing users with access to limitless music via the world’s most popular streaming services and the ability to wirelessly stream music with zero loss in sound quality. Users can stream up to 64 zones of high-resolution audio, up to 24-bit, 192kHz.
Caspian Series 4G makes use of Monitor Audio Group’s in-house designed MaestroUnite app. The intuitive-to-use app provides simple set-up options, as well as providing access to advanced features such as input configuration, headphone sensitivity, analogue input gain, balance, low power standby and the Roksan DSP Engine’s enhanced features for tailoring a system to a specific environment.
Caspian Series 4G builds on the foundations laid by the Roksan Attessa electronics, yet extends the performance, intuitive user-experience and physical design presence.
