Netgear has expanded its unlocked 5G mobile router lineup with the launch of the Netgear Nighthawk M3 Mobile Hotspot Router (MH3150), designed to meet the growing demands for accessible and powerful WiFi coupled with advanced security features anywhere, anytime.

Netgear previously launched the world’s first unlocked 5G mobile router. The Nighthawk M3 follows in the same vein, delivering 2.5 Gbps over 5G with the capacity to reach a maximum aggregated WiFi speed of up to 3.6Gbps. Additionally, the M3 features in-home performance mode which boosts WiFi coverage up to 1,000 sq.ft when the device is plugged in, and the battery is removed.

Like the Nighthawk M6, the M3 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon SDX62 Mobile Platform which enables it to provide performance with high speeds. Featuring dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz AX3600 WiFi 6 ensures that customers can enjoy support for their mobile connectivity needs from fast file transfer to high-end video streaming on up to 32 connected devices. The M3 router has a 5185mAh battery which delivers up to 13 hours of power on a single charge.

The M3 provides uninterrupted internet access for work, streaming, and gaming, and connectivity in any environment. It provides a portable, private WiFi connection in place of risky public WiFi. At home or in the office, it is also ideal for backup internet access.

“Netgear continues its commitment to making high-performance connectivity more accessible. With the launch of the Nighthawk M3 router, we’re delivering even more value—offering improved performance at a more competitive price point,” says David Henry, president & GM of Connected Home Products and Services at Netgear. “We have tapped into more than 25 years of wireless expertise to design this mobile router which combines 5G and WiFi 6 to enhance connectivity for business workers, travellers and digital nomads.”

Like all products in the Nighthawk range, the M3 is simple to set up and use and easily transportable. It features an intuitive colour screen which monitors data usage and allows users to see the WiFi name/password, check mobile signal strength and oversee device and network settings.

The USB-C ports make it easy to connect and distribute fast internet speeds to wired devices and support an Ethernet dongle to share 5G access with multiple wired devices simultaneously (feature available in Q1).

External 5G antennas (sold separately) can be connected to the available antenna ports to boost reception in buildings, at remote sites or wherever network coverage is sparse.
