Henley Audio has announced the immediate UK availability of the Nu-Vista 600.2 integrated amplifier from Musical Fidelity. After the success of the Nu-Vista 800.2, this new model functions as a more affordable solution for music lovers who want to access the reference-class sound quality found within the Nu-Vista by Musical Fidelity range.

The Nu-Vista 600.2 represents a significant upgrade over the old Nu-Vista 600 amplifier, benefiting from all the technical and design development the company carried out over the development of the new Nu-Vista by Musical Fidelity range.

Overseen by the company’s Chief of Design, Simon Quarry, the Nu-Vista 600.2 reportedly delivers “a sweet sound with huge power and transparency” from a chassis designed to give a feeling of luxury high-end.

The Nu-Vista 600.2 is a fully analogue, discrete integrated amplifier with dual-mono circuitry and premium components throughout. Said to represent the very best of luxury high-end audio, this is a complete solution that is easy to integrate with a wide range of high-end sources and loudspeakers.

To achieve its unique sound signature, the Nu-Vista 600.2 features four 6S51N nuvistor valves in a discrete Class A amplifier buffer. These tubes are installed on a newly designed PCB, alongside the sophisticated pre-amplifier stage, on a self-screening tray that is mounted above the main amplifier circuitry, for better isolation and reduced noise. The pre-amplifier, nuvistor stage, and the input circuits are all fully dual mono, with separate power supplies for each channel.

The benefit of this new top-layer PCB design is that there is more space in the chassis for connections, so the Nu-Vista 600.2 boasts six stereo inputs, including two balanced XLR inputs. There are also three stereo output options, including a balanced XLR variable output, which are each separately buffered, so there is no interference between the different outputs.

The power amplifier stage has been designed to mimic a ‘V4’ engine, with four output transistors per-channel, delivering 160W into 8Ω. Inspired by the TITAN amplifier, the output stage couples each individual output device to its own high-current bulk supply capacitor.

This configuration allows for more immediate access to stored energy and much lower impedance in the signal path, resulting in better technical measurements and low distortion, meaning the music can sound exactly as the artist originally intended.

In typical Nu-Vista by Musical Fidelity style, the overall construction of the Nu-Vista 600.2 is solid. The front and side panels are milled from extruded aluminium profiles, contributing to a chassis that effectively acts as a Faraday cage, protecting the internal circuitry from external electromagnetic fields. Because of the overall weight, the chassis is also resistant to other mechanical vibrations and airborne interference.

Sitting between the Nu-Vista 600.2’s two oversized control knobs is a large, clear display with different view options, including a VU-meter option. There is also a premium remote control, made from aluminium, which gives clear access to controls from the comfort of a listening position.

The Musical Fidelity Nu-Vista 600.2 is available in the UK now with a black or silver chassis for £7,999.00 (SRP).
